Is Quarantine Really Bad?

Image result for quotes about rowing in silence

Currently, all of Long Island is freaking out. Everyone is stressed. People do not want to be stuck in their houses all day, but they also do not want to get sick. At the moment, it seems as though people keep on complaining about what is going on in the world around them... without even looking into themselves.

Sure, quarantine could be lonely, and it could be irritating being stuck at home with family members. But, does it have to be lonely, annoying, and an irritation? NO.

The best kind of growth is done in silence. The best kind of growth is when you sit within yourself, analyzing what is wrong, planning your action of attack, and doing just that. While it is sad for most to not be able to go to bars, not see friends in public places, etc. Use this time for YOU.

Start with the environment around you. Who is checking up on you? Who is actively reaching out to you? Who will come to your house or sit outside just to see you? If there is someone who only wants to see you without the walls of containment, only wants to contact you to go out drinking at a bar.... is that someone you want to be friends with? If not, drop them. They are not your friend.

Once you have eliminated the toxicity in your environment, find out your toxic traits. We all have traits that are toxic. Like me, I know I: dwell on things that are bad that happen, care too much to the point where I hurt people by how much I care, I dwell on the anxieties of possibilities, I have trauma, I have insecurities. What are yours? Define them, and tackle them.

Remember those new year goals you made? DO THEM. This is your chance. Remember your goals, think about them, write them down again. You want to read more? Well look at that, you have a lot of time to use. You want to lose weight? Look at that, you do not need to be tempted to eat out. You want to work out? Work out in nature, do yoga YouTube videos, start from the comfort of your home. You have a million options, if you just sit down, and really think about it.

Why waste your time drinking alone, or wasting time in your house, when you could be doing something that is good? Build a habit. Chase your goals, and start being the person you want, and could be.
